Coaching Woes

The industry is funny. Sometimes its like a catch 22. If you are not a current coach with experience, even the places to help out, network, and gain experience - i.e. summer camps - won't take you. Today, everything lies in who you know. If you just so happen to get that opportunity due to timing or some experience, then kudos to you! As for the other high percentage of coaches who try to break the industry, everything goes back to the grassroots level - where you have to start from the bottom… Continue

Volleyball Drills Book: Become a Professional Player

This book comes from my experience as a player and a coach. I have decided to write it in order to help players and fellow coaches find the best solutions during the course of the game. However, I do believe that it can also serve as a powerful tool for young volleyball coaches, students, and players because the drills that I have collected here have shown good results in practice. For players who have just…

Power in numbers

One thing I totally love about building a business with the network marketing style is that we can reach so many more people a lot quicker. For example, Team BeachBody uses this method and it's absolutely amazing!! When I connect with 2 coaches that actively want to help others get fit, and they connect with 2 coaches, we will have already connected with 6 people. If each of these 6 connect with 2 active coaches, we will have 16 coaches actively working to stop the obesity trend here in the…

Have you forgot? Or is this one just a bit dusty?

Hello,

This past weekend I had the opportunity to present at a clinic. After the clinic I had a few people ask me for some body weight exercises that could be done on the field or with a limited budget. Here is an "oldy, but a goody" to bring the old school back into the new school aresenal of exercises. Let me know what you think.

ND

Late in my junior year at Notre Dame, I was browsing some part-time student jobs that were on-campus, and came across an opening for a student recruiting assistant in the football office. Up until that point, I had just helped out once and while in the dining hall cleaning up stuff, and working with the football team sounded a ton better! Prior to my brief interview, a couple good friends of mine recommended that I dress formally for the occasion. However, I realized once I got there that I may… Continue

Coaching dreams

I did not decide that I wanted to coach college football until spring of my senior year at Notre Dame. Some of my coaches in high school would tell me that I would make a great coach, but I never really listened to them when they said that. I was a part of back-to-back state titles in high school, and was singularly focused on getting into Notre Dame and playing football there...despite never getting any looks after four years of attending their summer camp. I'm the kind of person who expects… Continue

some information about me...

I am new not only on this website, but to coaching football as well. This upcoming fall will be my first time helping to coach a football team, and I am really excited about it. On this blog, I want to lay out some of my main thoughts, motivations, and ambitions for becoming a college football coach, and the blog here seems like the best avenue for this. Regardless if anyone browses it or not, I want to put into writing why I choose to pursue the profession of coaching, and why I believe I have… Continue
